Earth Day - Bay Day History: The Coastal Bend Bays Foundation (CBBF) hosted its first Earth Day-Bay Day in 1999, as a private event with only 100 attendees and 10 exhibitors/attractions in efforts to promote and encourage citizens to engage and learn about the bays and estuaries, wetlands, native plants and animals, recycling, sustainability, stewardship, and outdoor activities. The festival has grown to an open-to-the-public event attracting nearly 10,000 festivalgoers and 70 exhibitors/attractions. Local, regional and state organizations, businesses and government agencies all come together to provide FREE education, entertainment and resources to the public to promote awareness, highlight careers in environmental and STEM fields, and inspire conservation for our coastal wildlife and natural resources.

About Coastal Bend Bays Foundation: The Coastal Bend Bays Foundation is a member-based nonprofit founded in 1991, to build consensus on important environmental issues related to the Texas Coastal Bend. The foundation is a grassroots non-partisan organization that provides an equal-ground avenue to properly inform and educate our local and surrounding communities about relevant topics through our projects and programs, including Earth Day-Bay Day, monthly educational Coastal Issues Forums, quarterly coastal cleanups alongside the Texas General Land Office, and the Environmental Awards Banquet.

Earth Day-Bay Day is a FREE, family-friendly community festival filled with interactive educational exhibits and activities, wild animal shows, plant give away, food, freebies and more.
