NYPD Officer Belts Backstreet Boys' 'I Want It That Way' Over Car Speaker

No one can deny the power of the Backstreet Boys' smash, "I Want It That Way," including the NYPD as evident by a recent viral clip, which depicts an officer channeling his inner BSB.

On Saturday (November 10), street-goers spotted a police car parked on the side of the street with an offer in the driver's seat, identified by NPR and Fox News as Officer Richard Gunther, singing his heart out to the famed 1999 hit. During the clip, he alternated between belting the famed hook and holding the mic closer to the music, so that there was a fair share amount of love between both singing parties. "The NYPD absolutely nailed it today," wrote Jordan Haskins, who posted the video to Instagram. "So cool to see the humanity in our law enforcement. A small thing like this can really give you some hope in such uncertain times."

After the clip of the East Village "performance" went viral, Gunther replied to the post and it's safe to say that he's feeling all the love. "I'm So glad I can entertain everyone," Gunther said of his curbside performance. "Feels great interacting with the community and seeing all the smiles/laughs! You guys are the best!"

If you want to get even more BSB action, make sure you tune into Tuesday night's episode of The Voice, where the band will perform their new single, "Chances," off their upcoming album, DNA, which is available January 25, 2019.
