Amid Backlash, John Krasinski Explains Decision To Sell "Some Good News"

Fans aren’t happy John Krasinski sold his feel-good quarantine YouTube series “Some Good News” to CBS. As he gets called a “sellout” online, the actor has explained his decision to sell during a live stream with his former “Office” co-star Rainn Wilson.

During the Instagram Live chat, Krasinski says he was only planning on making eight episodes of “Some Good News” during quarantine as a fun and uplifting project with friends. But once he saw how much of a hit it was, he knew it was only a matter of time until he had to make a big decision.

Given the other projects he has to work on “very soon,” like “Jack Ryan,” Krasinski says “Some Good News” the way it exists now just isn’t “sustainable.” And he couldn’t be happier to keep the show going by bringing it to CBS, promising that he’ll be involved as much as he can.
