The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is making its grand return with an all-women lineup of performers, a first for the iconic fashion show, and legendary musician Cher has been announced as the headliner.
On Tuesday (September 17), the brand announced on Instagram that the "Believe" singer will take the stage on October 15 for the show's first-ever, all female lineup in its return after a five-year break, per People. Though Cher is the only musical guest announced so far, the brand teased that more artists will be revealed soon.
"It's a woman's world, so it's understood that you can't have a fashion show without the mother of fashion herself — @Cher!" the brand captioned the post. "We're beyond excited to announce she will officially be performing at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2024 on October 15. But she won't be alone... stay tuned, more announcements are coming to round out our first-ever, all-women lineup."
Earlier this year, Victoria's Secret announced that it was bringing back its fashion show for the first time since 2018, when it went on a hiatus amid criticism about inclusivity on the runway. A representative for the company told People in May that the upcoming show will be more inclusive than past years to "[reflect] who we are today."
"The 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will deliver precisely what our customers have been asking for — the glamour, runway, fashion, fun, wings, entertainment — all through a powerful, modern lens reflecting who we are today," the rep said. "We're thrilled to share a women-led articulation of this iconic property later this year!"
