The era of Ozempic and other weight loss drugs has resulted in potentially uncomfortable
moments around the holiday dinner table. In Lincoln, Nebraska, 29-year-old Morgan
Williams will be struggling with what the proper etiquette is when you’re not interested in the
table full of food that someone has placed in front of her. She’s lost 70 pounds since being on
the Ozempic and has found that her tastes for some foods have changed, and her appetite
isn’t what it once was. So, now, she’s worried about hurting the feelings of her host when she
fills her plate, politely takes a few bites, and then slinks away to scrape the plate in the
trash…because she doesn’t want to be insulting by leaving a plate full of food. Of course, she
could also just take less food, but that’s another question of dining guest ethics.
I thought Stephen Colbert's spoof turkey commercial was funny. If you put the turkeys on Turkey -Zembic,
they'll be skinnier and there won't be as much food and leftovers.
